We will continue our winter theme after winter break.
Have a wonderful winter break and a Happy New Year! I will see my friends on January 5th!
The theme this week was winter! At the art table, we made glitter snowflakes, snowman names, marshmallow snowman stamping, foil snowflakes, and colorful mittens. At the sensory table, we played with fake snow! The recipe for the fake snow is: 3 cups baking soda and 1/2 cup white hair conditioner. During 1:1 work, we matched colored snowflakes, traced winter items, penguin and snowman matching, mitten size sorting, and winter patterns. The letter of the week this week was M. We learned about many things that start with the letter M and made M activities. We will continue our winter theme after winter break. Have a wonderful winter break and a Happy New Year! I will see my friends on January 5th!

This week we continued our transportation theme. We created many great transportation art crafts: building a train, car sponge painting, red airplane, and coloring a race car. During 1:1 work, we sorted various ways of transportation that goes on the land, in the air, and on the water. We matched road signs, and car colors that we may see everyday on the road. We practiced our fine motor skills by tracing car tracks, and using dotters to create boats. The weather hasn't been too cold (yet). We love to go outside on the playground! The theme for next week is Winter! Have a wonderful weekend!
My first week as the teacher in the classroom was great! All of the students did very well with the transition.
Our theme for the week was transportation. We created many different transportation crafts this week. On Monday, we made a cars color book that the students took home. On Tuesday, we rolled cars in paint to make tire tracks. On Wednesday, we made a stoplight with red, yellow, and green pieces of construction paper. On Thursday, we made a freight train with different shapes. On Friday, we made a craft stick airplane with cotton ball clouds. During 1:1 work, we worked on matching, sorting, and tracing with various transportation activities. The students enjoyed these activities. At the sensory table, we rolled cars in PlayDoh making tire tracks and exploring the different tracks each car makes. During group time, we practiced identifying our transportation vocabulary words. We also listened to new transportation songs during music group. The students seem to enjoy the songs: "5 Little Airplanes" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzY79wsySJI "We All Go Traveling By" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSw50Jw0H34 "Vroom Goes the Red Race Car" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsgdwM73EgM "Cars, Cars, Cars " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hCtrd_bQTM We will continue the transportation theme next week. |
