Our theme next week is Fall!!
This week we continued our Halloween theme. We matched halloween pictures and spelled halloween words. We matched Halloween vocabulary words: pumpkin, halloween, ghost, black cat, candy, and trick or treat. We used our fine motor skills to make a bat and ghost dotter page.This week we made four art projects. We made a marshmellow mummy, construction paper candy corn, sticky spider web, and a jack-o-lantern. We had our classroom Halloween Party on Thursday. Everyone looked great in their Halloween costumes! The music therapist, Ms. Becca came to sing halloween songs with our friends. After music therapy, we started center rotations. At the art table, we painted pumpkins, added goggly eyes and stickers to make a spooky pumpkin. During 1:1, we read “Little Witch, Little Witch What Do You See?". We also sorted bat, candy corn, and ghost erasers and made our own jack-o-lanterns with silly faces. At the sensory table, we explored with cold spaghetti and spiders. We also explored with water jewels, spiders, pumpkins, bats, and skeletons. Germaine, the occupational therapist explored at the sensory table with us! This week we completed learning about the letter H. We made an H collage with different words that start with H, H stamps, H puzzle, and “H” is for house art project. After learning about the letter H, we started learning about the letter i. The i words we are focusing on are igloo, ice, inside, iron, island, and iguana. We traced the letter i and created an i dotter page. Next week we will continue learning bout the letter i and start learning about the letter j.

This week we learned about Halloween! We matched halloween pictures and spelled halloween words. The Halloween words we focused on this week were: ghost, witch, candy, monster, October, and costume. We matched colorful monsters. We used our fine motor skills to trace ghosts to the haunted house and create a spider, jack-o-lantern, and mummy dotter page. This week we made five spooky Halloween art projects. On Monday, we made was big green monster with different shapes for the face. On Tuesday, we made a fluffy cotton ball ghost. On Wednesday, we made a paper plate flying ghost. On Thursday, we made a handprint with q-tip bones. On Friday, we made a stained glass pumpkin picture. We listened to Halloween music. We stamped G words, created a letter G collage, and made a “G” is for glasses art project. We started learning about the letter H. The H words we focused on were hat, happy, hands, horse, heart, and hippo. We traced the letter H and created an H dotter page. Next week we will continue our Halloween theme. We will finish learning about the letter H and start learning about the letter I. Our classroom Halloween party is on Thursday! This week we had a short week learning about fire safety. We matched pictures and spelled fire, fire truck, firefighter, dalmatian, fire hydrant, stop, drop, and roll. We matched pictures of what firefighters wear when they are putting out a fire. We also used our fine motor skills to trace a firefighter to a fire. During story, we read about fire safety. We learned that a fire is very hot, firefighters will help if there is a fire, and if a fire ever touches our body we should "stop, drop, and roll". We made three fire safety art projects this week! The first art project we made was a firefighter with our face in it! The second art project we made was a fire truck. The third art project we made was puffy paint orange and yellow to make a fire. This week we started learning about the letter G. The G words we focused on were goat, grapes, girl, glasses, and goose. We matched pictures of G words and spelled G words. We completed a G dotter and tracing page. Next week we will finish learning about the letter G and our theme is Halloween!!!!
This week we learned about music. We focused on learning about different musical instruments such as: drums, maracas, guitar, and xylophone. We created a guitar and colorful trombone during art. We also created a paper plate bean shaker, which we used during music therapy! During 1:1 work, we matched instruments and colorful music notes. We played different instruments during music therapy and music class. We love to play instruments! This week we learned about the letter F. We matched pictures and spelled F words. The F words we focused on were: fish, fire, five, foot, flower, and four. We completed F tracing, dotter, collage, and F is for Fox art project. Next week our theme is fire safety and we will learn about the letter G. This week we learned about pets. We focused on learning about dogs, cats, bunnies, fish, and birds. We created paper plate dogs, yarn cats, stained glass goldfish, and soft birds. During 1:1 work, we matching non-identical pet pictures, dog and cat matching. During large group, we took care of our classroom pets that we have on ABCmouse.com. We have four classroom pets: fish, puppy, kitten, and chick. We gave our pets food, water, and a bath. This week we learned about the letter E. We matched pictures and spelled E words. The E words we focused on were: elephant, eight, eyes, ears, ad eraser. We completed E tracing, dotter, collage, and E is for elephant art project. Next week our theme is music and we will learn about the letter F. |
