Arrival/ Departure Routine
Routines are an important part of the school day. The students arrive at school and unpack their backpack. They place their folder and lunchbox in the correct bins, and check their schedule.
Classroom Jobs
Each student has a classroom job. Jobs give the student responsibility and ownership in the classroom. The goal is for each student to complete their job independently, so we keep the same job assignments for a few months.
Welcome Work
Every morning, the student's first classroom task is welcome work. After checking their schedule, the students each proceed to their assigned seat at the table. Each student "signs in" on their name tag. The name tags are individualized to each student: some students trace their name dotted or written lines. When help is needed, we are there to support the students in completing signing their name. As the year continues, we will evaluate each students fine motor skills and change as needed.
When the task is completed, the students are responsible for putting the materials in our ALL DONE bin.

After they have completed their welcome work, they get to check their schedule and enjoy some "quiet time."
